Hi, my name is Annie and I’m the ABCD Community Builder based at HOPE. ABCD is all about connecting people in communities and supporting them to start projects they would like to see happen.. it can be anything you think would work for Halton Moor and Osmondthorpe…walking groups, litter picks, walking football, social groups…you come up with the ideas... we even have a small pot of funding to help get things started. You could learn a new skill or discover hidden talents. This community has so much to offer and this could be a chance to put your ideas into action ….. I am going to be spending the next few months getting to know the area and chatting to as many people as I can so do get in touch if you have an idea you would like to see happen in your local community. I am not from Halton Moor, but have worked all my life in Leeds with jobs including running a canteen in a dairy and performing puppet shows at the Royal Armouries! Most of the time I have worked in education and in community projects across the city.
I used to teach gardening many moons ago at Osmondthorpe Resource centre and also ran a gardening course in Halton Moor around 2005.I can’t remember where exactly, as we held it in peoples’ back gardens..we used someone’s rabbit hutch as a desk. Let me know if you remember it !
